Pantsula Masterclass w/ Thato Qofela | Winter Intensive | 2023-41

Pantsula is a high-energy dance form that originated in the townships of South Africa during the apartheid era, and is characterized by its quick footwork, rhythmic movements, and intricate choreography. The dance style combines elements of traditional African dance, tap dance, and influences from various urban dance styles.

During the masterclass we will learn the basics of Pantsula, focusing on how to execute the steps musically as well as go into the details and qualities of the movement. Afterwards we will learn a combination/choreography, working with the Pantsula characteristics discovered earlier in the class. The masterclass will finish with group Q&A.
